Ursinus Comes Out of Hiding

A few weeks back, I mentioned the “bootleg” copies of Ursinus’ Large and Small Catechisms.  It turns out that they weren’t bootlegs after all.  They had just inadvertently disappeared from the Christ Reformed Church website.  At any rate, the document is back. Thanks to Kim Riddlebarger and the good folks at Christ Reformed Church for making this invaluable resource available once again.

Bootlegs of Ursinus’ Large and Small Catechisms

One of the wonderful things about the Internet is that once something gets posted, it’s often out there for good.  Even if it gets deleted, it’s usually never really deleted.  I found this out recently while looking for a .pdf of a translation of the Large and Small Catechisms of Zacharias Ursinus.  The translation was by Fred H. Klooster and John Medendorp.  It used to be available as a download from Christ Reformed Church in Anaheim.  That’s where I first got it, downloaded it, printed it off and bound it.   But I think somebody squealed and they were forced to remove it, probably because of the publication of Lyle Bierma’s Introduction to the Heidelberg Catechism, which includes the catechisms.  Whatever the case may be, and this is the news you’ve been waiting for, you can still download it from here.  This is a helpful resource to have while studying the Heidelberg Catechism.
