Bootlegs of Ursinus’ Large and Small Catechisms

One of the wonderful things about the Internet is that once something gets posted, it’s often out there for good.  Even if it gets deleted, it’s usually never really deleted.  I found this out recently while looking for a .pdf of a translation of the Large and Small Catechisms of Zacharias Ursinus.  The translation was by Fred H. Klooster and John Medendorp.  It used to be available as a download from Christ Reformed Church in Anaheim.  That’s where I first got it, downloaded it, printed it off and bound it.   But I think somebody squealed and they were forced to remove it, probably because of the publication of Lyle Bierma’s Introduction to the Heidelberg Catechism, which includes the catechisms.  Whatever the case may be, and this is the news you’ve been waiting for, you can still download it from here.  This is a helpful resource to have while studying the Heidelberg Catechism.

    Wes:

I had forgotten that we had this posted on the old Christ Reformed web site–this is one of the first things we put up. No one asked us to remove it.

As you may know, we’ve had hosting problems with our audio and some of our old files (which probably included the three versions of the Catechism) were left somewhere in cyberspace and your search found it.

I’ll check with our webmaster about getting that link fixed.

    KR
